Large Turnout for Annual State Gov’t Affairs Conference
On January 27, over 270 credit union professionals from across Wisconsin shared The Credit Union Difference with their elected officials at The League’s annual State Government Affairs Conference in Madison. During those meetings, attendees shared their support for legislation to prevent financial fraud, strengthen financial literacy education, and rein in predatory lending practices.
It’s the International Year of Cooperatives!
The United Nations has declared 2025 the International Year of Cooperatives, highlighting how cooperatives build a better world through their vital role in sustainable development, inclusive growth, and strengthening community resilience. As not-for-profit cooperatives, credit unions are uniquely equipped to foster financial well-being for all through their adherence to the seven Cooperative Principles originally adopted by The International Cooperative Alliance and an emerging eighth cooperative principle set by the National Credit Union Foundation and America’s Credit Unions.

The Foundation Awards $6,000 in CUNA Management School Scholarships

Foundation DE Scholarship Renamed Pat Wesenberg DE Scholarship

In March, The Wisconsin Credit Union Foundation’s Board of Directors approved renaming its Development Education (DE) Scholarship the Pat Wesenberg Development Education (DE) Scholarship in memory of Pat Wesenberg, the former President of Simplicity Credit Union and longtime advocate for The Credit Union Movement who passed away in February after an extended illness.
