The Government Affairs Committee (GAC) is charged with developing and executing strategies that help Wisconsin credit unions survive and thrive in the changing, challenging, and critical world of public policy and politics. The Committee’s guidance and insights are critical to ensuring The League’s efforts are effective in bringing the credit union perspective to policymakers in the State Legislature, the United States Congress, and regulatory agencies.
The GAC continues to focus on passing pro-credit union legislation, halting negative proposals, and engaging and informing Credit Union Activists. Committee members provide guidance through the Legislative Guiding Principles, review of legislative and agency policy proposals, attendance at legislative meetings, and support of political fundraising activities.
