NCUA hosting free webinar on combatting financial scams

NEWS:  The National Credit Union Association (NCUA) and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) are hosting a free webinar on Thursday, March 12, 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. (Central Time). The webinar is geared towards credit unions and community banks and will focus on today’s most prevalent financial scams, and the actions credit unions can take to reduce risk and protect members.

The webinar will feature:

  • Practical strategies to help combat fraud and identify suspicious or unauthorized activity. 
  • Financial education resources banks, credit unions, and community partners can use such as MyCreditUnion.gov and FDIC’s Money Smart resources. 
  • Insights from representatives of a credit union and a community bank, who will share proven best practices for preventing fraud and identifying potentially fraudulent activity.

Register now for the webinar; there is no cost to attend, but registration is required. You can submit questions in advance or during the webinar by email with the subject line: “Financial Education & Frontline Action to Address Scams.” Credit union staff will leave with actionable tools, resources, and strategies to better equip your frontline staff and empower members in the fight against financial fraud.
