In order to encourage the redevelopment of brownfields and take away the concerns about liability burdens, Wisconsin’s Spill law has an exemption for lenders and representatives who meet the conditions described in state law. This fact sheet describes those state liability protections for lenders as well as those available from federal environmental laws.
