DMA: Sweepstakes Do’s and Don’ts for Marketers

A “Plain Language” Guide to the Deceptive Mail Prevention and Enforcement Act of 1999 (DMPEA) by the Direct Marketing Association (DMA).

The DMPEA became law on December 12, 1999 and took effect on April 12, 2000. It covers “sweepstakes mailings, skill contests, facsimile checks, and mailings made to resemble government documents.”
