CU Community Days is a week-long event kicking off each year on Indigenous’ Peoples Day that showcases how Wisconsin’s credit unions serve their communities throughout the year and embody their cooperative principles including Cooperation Among Cooperatives and Concern for Community. During CU Community Days, credit unions across the state are encouraged to address food insecurity in their communities or give back in other ways that matter to them.
In 2026, CU Community Days will again coincide with International Credit Union Day. Several other state leagues also host community outreach events during October, making this a great opportunity to increase visibility of The Credit Union Difference nationwide.
Save the Date! 2026 CU Community Days will take place October 12-16. Your commitment will help The League elevate your efforts and track our collective impact. We will accept pledges beginning in late spring.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to pledge to participate?
Please do! There is no cost to pledge and this will (1) help us elevate your efforts on social media and (2) help us gather information on your planned activity/activities before and after the event so we can share our collective impact. Please pledge by September 19 to help us plan and ensure your receipt of any swag prior to CU Community Days.
Is there any cost to participate?
There is no cost to pledge; other costs are entirely up to your credit union. You can use funds to make direct donations to community partners, purchase supplies for organizations, or include your members to help donate to causes in your community.
What does pledging require?
When pledging, we kindly ask for the following:
- A brief description of your credit union’s planned community service activities that will occur during the week of October 13-17 (can just be general information if specific details are still being ironed out)
- A primary contact person from your credit union for the event. That primary contact person will also be asked to fill out a brief survey immediately following CU Community Days so we can accurately measure our collective impact.
- Please plan to share your credit union’s activities on social media during CU Community Days (use hashtag #CUCommunityDays or send photos directly to League VP of Communications Sammy Dennis). We will be monitoring all participating credit union’s social media channels to be able to share your posts!
- A preferred mailing address for any swag.
My credit union already does community service on Indigenous Peoples’ Day/Columbus Day and/or International Credit Union Day.
