The League Helps Combat Elder Financial Abuse Through Community Response Team

As a member of Wisconsin’s “Abuse in Later Life Coordinated Community Response Team,” The Wisconsin Credit Union League has helped prepare educational brochures about elder abuse–including financial abuse–to help strengthen elder abuse recognition and reporting. Those brochures are now available for web and for professional printing (with markup): What Can You Do to Prevent Elder Fraud and Scams? Web | Print Your Guide to Protecting Yourself and Others from Financial Elder Abuse Web | Print The Warning Signs of Elder Abuse Web | Print The Response Team is a multidisciplinary group focused on developing and promoting a coordinated, local response to the needs of elder abuse victims in Wisconsin’s 72 counties. The team is a collaborative effort, which includes representatives from various disciplines, including law enforcement, adult protective service agencies, other government offices, trade groups, non-profits, and more. The group develops training and educational opportunities for professionals across the state that interact with elder abuse victims.
